INFORMATION

DESCRIPCTION:

Red wine made exclusively from a selection of the finest Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Syrah grapes and endorsed by the Dominio de Valdepusa Qualified Designation of Origin.

Hand-picked, followed by destemming and gravity transfer to fermentation tanks. Prolonged maceration for up to 4 or 5 weeks and ageing in new and semi-new French Allier oak barrels for 20-24 months in a climate-controlled ageing cellar.

Deep cherry red colour. The nose combines the best of the varieties with the contributions of its ageing. Very good aromatic intensity, clean, round, elegant and powerful on the palate, with excellent tannic structure. The finish is dominated by well-nuanced fruit notes (plum jam, forest fruits), with a long persistence.

This is a wine for ageing that will give pleasure today and for at least the next 10-15 years, if transported and stored at the right temperature and humidity. Ideal for enjoying with game, poultry, roasts and mature cheeses. It is recommended to decant and serve immediately at 15-17ºC.

Marqués de Griñón™ are signature wines, created in the 1970s by Carlos Falcó y Fernández de Córdoba, who was considered the most renowned Spanish winemaker with international recognition and influence, and who was the 5th Marquis of Griñón.
