The flower that adorns all paths will now also adorn your cocktails or accompany your favourite drinks to give them an unrivalled essence and colour.
The mallow flower is characterised by its colour and aroma. Gin, vodka or vermouth are its perfect companions. In some cultures, such as Greek and Roman, the mallow plant was consumed as a vegetable for its nutritional qualities, as it contains various vitamins (A, B1, B2 and C).
Nowadays, its leaves are usually eaten raw or cooked. Its flavour is quite mild and its tender shoots can replace lettuce in a salad. It can also be combined with stronger-flavoured foods such as ham, resulting in dishes with intense flavours. Another use is as an accompaniment to meat, rice, pasta or omelettes.
Mix it with boiling water before adding it to any cocktail, along with a measure of your chosen drink, and allow its flavour and aroma to develop. After three minutes, everything will be tinged with violet, the perfect moment to create the rest of the cocktail. Strain the mixture, add the other ingredients and decorate with a flower for a perfect finish. The result will be a unique flavour with a very special aroma.
