Priego de Córdoba, Córdoba (Spain)

Formed from the adjoining of two olive oil production cooperatives and protected by the Destination of Origin, Priego de Córdoba: S.C.A Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno and S.C.A. Virgen del Castillo.

The olive oil that is produced in the oil mills comes from the mountainous, limestone terrains of the Priego de Córdoba region. The cultivated varieties include: picudo 50%, picual 30 % and hojiblanca 20 %, with a plantation density of 99 - 100 olive trees per hectare, and an average age of 300 years old. The harvest is part-manual, part-mechancial.

The production line is carried by a two-phase process consisting of, firstly, cold extraction from the oil mill and, secondly, warehouse storage with stainless steel deposits and copper, covered and equipped cubierta y acondicionada a tal efecto en unas instalaciones de 26.000 metros cuadrados.
